I've found a new term appeared in China----"media violence". This term mean the mediums will blame a person or an organization when they collected others' money. Then the public opinion becomes not important and the values of the news changed after media violence happened.
Is the public opinion important in American? I am not hundred percent sure. But I respect the journalists here because they always do their best to find the truth. When I learn media writing, my professor required us not use subjective words. Every words shouldn't shows your opinion about the news. When you write a news, you should tell everything really to the reader. The fact is so important here.
I was disappoint to Chinese journalism, everything is money talks. The media was always help the rich one to blame the poor one. Once problem happened, the poorer one would lose most. Few days before, the public helped the poorer one in an issue happened between two famous companies. It's obviously that the rich one was wrong, but the media blamed the the other one also even the public. They even closed the comment feature of the blog. What's really not good for their public relation work.
Public relation is based on the equal. If there is such "violence"exist, it would very hard for people doing PR works. So I hope the "media violence"will disappeared in China, everyone can have their opinion freely.

Mass Media Banquet in Washburn University
Mass Media students are awarded various scholarships each year at the banquet. The Mass Media Banquet is held every spring semester
to honor and acknowledge students and staff from the
department.
It is produced by the PR Campaigns class. The class chooses a unique theme each year. The class is responsible for all the details of the banquet, from promotion, to decorations, to evaluation, and running the actual event, all while staying within budget. This is one of the great hands-on experiences Washburn University students receive.
The banquet showcases a keynote speaker, usually someone from the area, that can provide insight to students based on their journey within the media industry. At the banquet seniors are recognized, as well as scholarship recipients. An Outstanding Student Award is given to one student from each of the four areas of emphasis. The class also chooses an alum to receive the Outstanding Alumni Award and another to receive the Alumni Rising Star Award.
And this year, the banquet will be holding in the Washburn A&B Room Memorial Union, on Thursday,APRIL 12, 2012. The ticket is costs $15 per one. People can purchase theri tickets in Henderson 316.

PR Based on Different Culture V
As many people know that there were many employees of the Foxconn Company jump from the company building because of the low income and hard work in China. As people know, Foxconn Company is a company make iPhone cell phones for U.S. Apple Company. For this sad event, both Chinese and American medias gave news releases and responds. They all want to build positive relations between the companies and the public. But the target points was very different.
For Chinese medias, they published many news releases about the staffs' poor life in the company. How they make lives and work in a such poor place, how they solve their mental health problem because of the high strength work is their points.
And the American medias gave some other target points. They paid more attention on the influence on the America's economy and the iPhone marketing after Foxconn Company's staffs' salary raised. They don't want the price of iPhone will arise so that the people will complain the Apple Company that have bad influence on the America's economy develop.
Overall, different classes and different cultural made the PR work should have different target points. PR person like me should find the right aspect of the problem under different situations so that to achieve the success.

PR Based on Different Culture IV
I've read a article about the future of social media. It said that the Facebook's user amount decreased recent years. Many American users feel tired about social media like Facebook. Fewer people keep using social media everyday. But on the other hand, more and more people in Asian people started use social media.
Actually, Asian people shopping online is earlier then American people about 10 years. And in the current online virtual product all the sales accounted for 70% of the share, and the proportion is in expanding. The macroscopic level also is amazing. Today's 1.8 billion Internet users around the world have 44% live in Asia, equivalent to four times as in America. By 2020, the number of Internet users will reach 5 billion, Asian Internet users will be far higher than the current. In this way, social media has huge market in Asian.
But as the different culture and manage method, Facebook is not so popular in Asian. Most Asian people prefer local social media to communicate. So when PR person facing some problem in Asian, my advise is not use Facebook or twitter only. Think about some Asian social media tool, then you may get large market and well influence.
I believe that the future of social media is in Asian.

PR Based on Different Culture III
After I took PR course in the U.S. until now, I found that PR concept between China and USA is a little bit different.
For one example, creative drug names. There are many "new kinds" of drugs with new names appeared to people's life in China. Many of them are just old drugs just changed new names. It seems that Chinese manufacturers produced many new drug for people every year. And the names may have suggestion and permision for audiences. But as I learned here, my professor said the drug names' law is very strict. The name of drugs cannot have any suggestion and permision for audiences. The check work of the names is also very complex. Including the mean, pronunciation, and the structure of the name should be checked very strict. Few manufacturers can get the premit to a new drug.
I think that's because China is a developing country, it need people to get medthods to stimulate economic development in all aspects. But in this way, people cannot get high quality products so that trigger many PR problems like the milk powder danger porblem. And the manufacturers in China fouced on quality of products more than before.

PR Based on Different Culture II
I found that most Chinese mass media person prefer to pay attention to the "face problem" (what means the things including reputations, relationships between people)as the Amercing mass media person do things regularly on the rules.
There are several good points of people pay attention to the "face problem", the social classes have been separated very clearly. In some cases, people can get things done much easier. But as I see, There are still many negative points do things in this way. Many people get things done harder as someone else in advanced. The lower class people can not have the same rights on the same things. Too many people per fer built relationships then doing their own things good.
So when I came to the U.S., I found it's a good way to do things just obey the rules. For PR, build relationships is very important, but the quality of the goods is much more important than it. I think that's because Amerasians prefer more individual than Chinese people.
Chinese people think relationships is so important to a person to live in the social life. People rely on each other and share sources together is the best way to get things be done. But Armenians prefer to be along and need more personal rooms.
That's what I found the different of PR between China and the U.S..
